Virus Protection

It is a fact that 95% of all your virus problems will come via the e-mail, so it is necessary to take every precaution to prevent this occurring, and to assist you we provide advice on how best to protect your system.However should the unfortunate happen, we will come and clear the virus infection from your system.

We supply a machine complete with the Anti Spam and Anti Virus (McAfee) software. This is configured to work with your computer system, and fine-tuned to personalise the system to meet your specific business requirements. Thereafter the machine is remotely updated on a regular basis by ourselves, to keep the system effective and current with ever changing Spam criteria, as part of an ongoing annual support service.

Our anti Spam (junk mail) system works by subjecting the email to several tests, which are various and are ever changing. These tests produce a score against each email, which when measured against a threshold score, determines whether or not the email is likely to be “Spam”. The sensitivity of this system can be altered, either by raising or lowering the threshold score. It also has the ability to have “White” lists and “Black” lists added to tailor the system to meet specific client needs. The email is then forwarded to the Mail Server.If the email is determined to be “Spam” the clients email system is informed, and this “Junk” mail can either be deleted or automatically put into a special folder by the client’s email system for viewing by the user at a later date.
